* For her master’s thesis, photographer Natale Slater traveled Route 66 rephotographing various scenes she came across in historical photos of the Mother Road. Interesting to see how much remains recognizable from those old photos. (via)
* RideApart this week took a look at a few different World War II prototypes that Harley-Davidson built – most of which were rendered immediately obsolete by the jeep, but which remain intriguing ideas nonetheless.
* Not just one, but two bubbletop cars showed up on our radar this week (three, if you count the Happy Holidays card from Fritz). The first: Paul Bacon’s Cosmotron on Motorpunk.
* And the second: Eric Goodrich’s Iron Lung, which has been making the Tumblr rounds and which appeared on Steampunk Vehicles.
* Finally, James Kraus over at AutoUniversum has created an award, the Étoile d’Or du Cinéma, for excellence in jet-age styling in film, and gave the first such award to the 1961 Bob Hope and Lana Turner movie Bachelor in Paradise .
