Before anybody comments that this 1932 Ford hot rod for sale on Hemmings.com be restored back to stock, consider this: It’s spent more of its history in a modified state, fitted with a Y-block Thunderbird 312 V-8, than in a stock state, so the fact that it remains a hot rod today – other than being clearly the owner’s preference, and who’s gonna argue with him or her on that? – is more of a tribute to its history than any back-to-stock restoration. From the seller’s description:
Recent restoration on this all genuine 1932 Henry Ford Steel Deuce that was a former race car in the 1950′s. Includes 50 years of photo documentation that includes pictures of car in late 50′s while it was set up as a race car, pictures thru the 1960′s when it’s steel fenders were added back on & more photos of the most recent restoration process, 2009-2012.
Channeled and set up for racing in the 1950′s, this Deuce was set up with a 1957 Ford “312″ Y Block Thunderbird engine which it is still has today, along with the same auto transmission. Car was in the same family for over 50 years, runs and drives with all the power it had in the day. Very much a time capsule but now with some more modern touches, ie electronic ignition, aluminum radiator, modern wiring/fuses,etc., the car is a driver but would show well on display.
