Last year, Kustomrama, the “Traditional Rod and Kustom Encyclopedia,” debuted a traditional custom car show in Wildwood, New Jersey, held in conjunction with The Race of Gentlemen and in cooperation with the Oilers Car Club. Despite the weekend’s focus on beach racing, the inaugural show proved to be a success, so Kustomrama has announced the return of Customs by the Sea for 2015.
Changes are planned for 2015, but these will likely boost traffic for Customs by the Sea. First, the event is moving from its previous location (the parking lot at the end of Rio Grande Avenue ) to the beach, where the cars will be staged next to the main racing area. The show will also limit cars to pre-1952 models, styled in a pre-1952 manner, which is more in line with the theme of The Race of Gentlemen.
The 2015 show will be limited to pre-1952 automobiles, customized in a pre-1952 style.
The exact dates of the 2015 Customs by the Sea car show will depend upon the dates chosen for the 2015 Race of Gentlemen, which have not yet been finalized (although early October is still likely). A selection of early customs has already been picked, but spots are still open for those wishing to submit cars for consideration. For additional information, visit CustomsByTheSea.com.
