Though this is hard to quantify, I’ve begun to notice a general downward spiral in civility among commenters on our posts. Disagreements are fine, but calling something “crap” because you don’t like it is not. Likewise, personal attacks on other posters are not permitted, and will be deleted by any site administrator reviewing them.
Without diving into a long list of rules for posting, allow me to hit on a few highlights:
- We’re all friends here, so treat each other as such.
- Remember that comments can easily be taken out of context, so consider that when typing a response (especially a response to a comment you disagree with).
- Our website is dedicated to cars, trucks, and occasionally motorcycles. It is not a forum to discuss politics, religion or lifestyle choices, and any such off-topic comments will be deleted.
- Respect the fact that not everyone shares the same interests. Don’t like foreign cars? Don’t read our coverage of them. Each and every weekday, we do our best to provide a balanced mix of fresh content, so there will almost always be something of interest for most readers.
- We’re a family-oriented site, so keep things clean (which most of you do already).
