In early December, word broke that Matthieu Lamoure and Pierre Novikoff of auction firm Artcurial had dug up a nearly unbelievable collection of vintage cars in France. Owned by the Baillon family, the vehicles, many rescued from the scrap yard, were to have been the start of an automotive museum that never quite materialized. As the family fell on hard times, the collection was largely ignored, and its “rediscovery” and subsequent trip to the auction block generated considerable discussion among Hemmings readers.
Now that Artcurial has compiled its full auction catalog, images of each car from the Baillon Collection have been uploaded to the firm’s website. We thought that a thumbnail gallery of the complete collection would be a fitting follow-up to our original coverage, so below please find all the Baillon Collection lots set to cross the stage on February 6 at Artcurial’s Rétromobile 2015 sale. Each image is labeled with the vehicle’s make and model, and clicking on the thumbnail will call up a full-size image.
