A number of people were dismayed at seeing a clone of an SC/Rambler the last time we pointed to one for sale. Fortunately for them, this actual 1969 AMC SC/Rambler popped up for sale on Hemmings.com just recently. Though it sports a 10-year-old restoration, it looks like hardly a mile’s been put on it since it was redone, and given that it wsa once owned by the founder of the SC/Rambler registry, we can be pretty sure it’s got all the right parts in all the right places. From the seller’s description:
Here is a genuine, documented, restored, numbers matching factory race car, with an exceptional story. Previously owned by the SC/Rambler registry founder and registrar, for over 20yrs. This is the real deal and very rare car. And the car is in excellent show condition. Sold new as NHRA F Stock Production Race Car! Only 1512 of these were made and only a very few remain. There were 500 “A” paint code cars produced, 500 “B” paint code cars, another 500 “A” code cars and 12 Baja cars produced. This restoration began in 2005 and was done to a very high level in Lewisville, Texas. It was then sold to a collector in Minnesota and we purchased it from him. The car is listed in the 1512 registry.
