Sure, it takes dedication to hold on to a car that you bought new for 40 years, but dedicated doesn’t begin to describe the seller and original owner of this 1975 Buick LeSabre convertible listed on Hemmings.com. Serviced every year, it now wears a cosmetic restoration and sports a number of NOS items that the seller bought when the car was new; it goes without saying that the car comes with all the pertinent documentation from its four decades of one-owner history. From the seller’s description:
I am the original owner of this Buick LeSabre convertible, purchased new from Bartlett Buick in Buffalo, NY. The engine is the 350. The car has been a light summer driver only for the past 30 plus years and did undergo a significant cosmetic restoration 10 years ago, being sandblasted and painted the original Arctic white. An NOS front bumper with NOS front and rear bumper guards (purchased by me when the car was relatively new and saved) and NOS wheel lip moldings were utilized (I still have the originals which were excellent.) The headlamp door bezels (which began to pit when the car was new) and the driver and passenger door handles were rechromed by Qual Krom in Erie, Pennsylvania. The two rear tail lamps including the chrome bezels are NOS. The interior including the carpet is original and in excellent condition. I have an NOS set of the correct red rubber carpet savers. The car has a new correct top with new pads, cables, and rubber and a new glass widow with defogger (required in New York State when the car was new.) It also has a new red top boot (and I also have the original which is still in nice shape.) I installed an NOS driver’s side mirror with thermometer (a rare option) and do have the original mirror. The car has been mechanically upgraded over the last few years for dependablility with new radiator and hoses, thermostat, new master cylinder and rear proportioning valve, new alternator, new water pump, new exhaust, and rebuilt transmission (done for reliability, was not having any issues.) The correct width white wall tires were new several years ago and have minimal mileage. I have the original window sticker and all sales documentatioin including catalogs, GM parts books, dealer upholstery and color books, and shop manual. This was not a heavily optioned car. It has an AM/FM radio, and hand crank windows. The dealer installed a clock and passenger side rear view mirror when we purchased the car. It does have power brakes and power steering. The engine and trunk compartments are largely original – they are exceptionally clean, upgraded here and there, but have not been formally restored. I also have quite a few spare parts for the car, all of which would be included. The car has always been licensed and is inspected and serviced yearly at our local Cadillac dealer, Keyser Cadillac, which also used to have a Buick franchise. This would be a wonderful car for someone who wants a very nice 1975 Buick convertible which has a very original feel, which is a very dependable driver, and has a well documented one owner history. The reason for selling is that the time has regrettably come to think about thinning my small collection.
