Nobody can say that the National Corvette Museum didn’t make news this year, what with the gaping sinkhole and all. Things have gotten better for the Bowling Green, Kentucky, automotive landmark since then, as the museum has announced a brace of new amenities for its Motorsport Park that will be coming in 2015.
Leading the way among them is the announcement that the park, which has a 3.15-mile road course, will receive a new garage and pavilion complex. The building will measure more than 14,000 square feet and accommodate 22 garages, including four oversize units that could potentially be used for technical inspection. The structure will include concessions, showers and restroom facilities with flush toilets, addressing one of the few complaints of visitors in 2014. The new complex will be named in honor of Kimberlee A. Fast, a dedicated Corvette racer, autocrosser and museum supporter.
Construction is expected to begin next month, with completion set for April. Signage and other sponsorships are available. Last year, the park hosted 180 track days, a number that’s expected to climb once the construction is finished. Find out more by visiting the museum’s website at CorvetteMuseum.org.
